Starstruck Page 7
By the second body shot which she did shamelessly on my stomach near my navel, someone walked in on us. I thought it was Patty or Tim coming to my rescue, but it was the Devil’s advocate. “D!” Nadia exclaimed, glancing around to make sure that nobody followed her into the kitchen. “What the hell?! If people see you like that, there will be rumors. And it won’t be pretty.” She clicked her tongue at Denise, tossing her wavy black hair behind her.
The blonde rolled her eyes at Nadia. “Where do you suggest I do it? In the bathroom where people go in and out to puke?” She stood up from her kneeling position and quickly brought my blue fitted top down to cover my stomach that she was harassing a few seconds ago.
“There are guest rooms here. Duh!” Nadia argued. Standing up to the Queen Bee are we? I thought in a drunken haze. The two looked like best friends for life. If I knew that, I wouldn’t have trusted Nadia easily. The snake was as manipulative and conniving as her bff. It figures.
“Duh yourself Nadia. The guest rooms are locked. Did you think I didn’t check it as soon as I arrived here?” Nadia took something from her pocket. A set of keys dangled from her fingers. She smirked at Denise and gave her an I-know-I’m-a-genius look. “Where did you get that?” Denise said, pleasantly surprised.
“From the host herself.” Nadia had a self-satisfied look. “As soon as I heard that the cool three were coming to the party, including your baby,” she looked pointedly at me, “I knew what you were going to do. How long have we been friends for Denise? I know you better than anyone.” She raised her other hand and waited for a clap.
The cool three? Was she referring to Tim, Patty, and me? Yuck! Denise giggled and clapped Nadia’s hand with her own. “We’ve been best friends since forever girl. Now help me take this girl to the guest bedroom. It’s time that we take this relationship further. I’m getting tired of this cat and mouse game.”
“You’re such a lesbian,” Nadia teased.
“Shut up Nadia. Someone may hear you. I swear you’re so stupid sometimes,” Denise scolded. Nadia looked offended but quickly dismissed it. She probably knew that there was no arguing with Denise. Especially when she was bossy like this. The two took my arms and placed it over their shoulders.
“Nooooooo,” I whined.
They didn’t pay any attention to my whining, and a little bit of squirming, and took me back to the living room where the stairs were located. People stared at us as we passed. “Is that Dulce?” someone said in the crowd. Oh God. The reputation and peaceful life that I was trying to protect went down the drain. Everyone saw me drunk.
Denise smirked at them. “Don’t mind us. Continue partying. Dulce is busy right now.” The gawkers nodded and continued drinking, talking, whatever it was that they did in a party. No one paid further attention as Nadia and Denise took me up the stairs, straight inside one of the large bedrooms. They dumped me like a sack on the bed. I stared dizzily at the white ceiling, wondering what Denise could possibly do. I came up with none.
“For someone so lean and sexy, that girl weighs a lot.” Nadia looked me up. “Maybe there’s flabs and fat underneath that shirt,” she said mockingly.
Denise laughed at her assumption and brought my top up, exposing the flesh on my tummy area. My hands were unaccounted for. I squeezed my eyes shut in embarrassment. It felt like I was a specimen to them. “See?” Denise asked. “She’s toned and perfect Naddy.” Her hands glided up and down my stomach, making me feel queasy.
“I know what you mean.”
I opened my eyes to see Denise slapping Nadia’s hands. “No touching,” she warned. “Find your own girl to prowl on dyke. I worked hard for this one.”
Nadia pouted. “As if you’re not a lesbian too D. Don’t worry, I have my sights set on a different flavor. I’m more for the Hollywood celebrity type,” she hinted. Who was she talking about? Glace?
Denise snorted, sitting down on the bed near me. “Good luck with that. Frio looks yummy, but believe me when I tell you that she’s cold as ice and as boring as a sack of potatoes.” She glanced at me. “This one is different though. Innocent and sweet. I’d like to keep her.”
“But you were never a one woman type of person,” Nadia said, disbelieving.
“Yeah, well it’s different with Dulce. I can be happy with her. In secret of course.” She chuckled, cupping my cheek with her hand.
“Were you able to talk to Frio before? How did you know that she’s cold? Maybe she’s just waiting for the right person.”
Denise stroked my hair. “Daddy’s a director remember? He produced and directed one of Frio’s movies. It was called Lover’s in L.A or something like that. When daddy threw a party to celebrate the award that they won for that film, Frio came to my house.” Denise removed her stiletto’s while talking. “My gaydar picked her up. But she was shady as hell and wouldn’t give me the time. When I was finally able to talk to her, she only pretended to listen and looked like her pet died.” Denise picked up her stiletto’s, placing it somewhere on the side of the bed. “Besides, she told me that she’s taken.”
Nadia’s mouth popped open. “What? With who?”
“I don’t know, and I don’t give a damn about it.” Denise made a go away motion. “Let’s talk about that later Naddy. Run along now so I can have my private time with Dulce.” Nadia nodded. Without another word, she left the room. Denise rolled beside me and propped her head up using her arm. “Now that we’re alone babe, we’ll have more time to talk. Actually, we’ll do more kissing and touching instead of talking.” She giggled.
With huge effort, I turned my head to her direction. “Denyyyyy,” I said. “Immma sleepy.”
“No babe, we’re not going to sleep,” she cooed. Denise touched my nose. “We’ll do that after.”
“Afteeer whaaa?” My heart pounded like a jackhammer.
She didn’t respond and moved up to straddle me. Remember what I told you about experiencing everything even though you’re drunk? I felt and saw the whole thing as she did it. I saw the glimmer in her eyes as she rocked her hips against my right leg. I sensed her slowly unbuckling my brown belt. I knew it when she unbuttoned my skinny jeans and pulled my zipper down. I felt her fingers slowly pulling my shirt up and caressing my stomach. And I had a faint recollection of Denise bringing her mouth to my lips and sliding her tongue inside my mouth, her cinnamon taste overpowering my senses.
Chapter 8. Morning After
I woke up to the softest pillow I have ever laid my head on. My eyes didn’t flutter open like it usually did. Instead, I enjoyed the softness a little while longer with my eyes closed. My face was pressed on the feathery marshmallow pillow. I inhaled deeply, loving its creamy scent. Were pillows supposed to smell like my favorite coffee? I burrowed my head on the thing and gripped it tighter to me. The heavenly soft material moved against my body.
I scooted closer to feel its warmth. A sigh involuntarily escaped my lips as the pillow snaked its arms around me and pulled me nearer. The scent alone made me high with happiness, but I got even more contented when its heartbeat became in tune with mine. Wait. What?
My eyes opened in a snap. It stared straight into coffee colored ones. My stomach did this rollercoaster thing as I realized that I was looking at Glace. Looking, gazing, staring were betters terms, but sadly that was not all there was to it. My front was pressed to her body. Our legs were tangled like vines. Our arms were locked in an embrace too. I quickly realized that it was her front that I was snuggling into a second earlier, not the pillow.
To add insult to injury, I was wearing nothing but my black lingerie. A quick scan downward revealed that she was wearing her black undergarments too. Only hers were lace and looked sexy on her. I untangled myself from her in a split second, hyperventilating as I sat on the bed. Her bed. Inside her room. The one I visited weeks ago. I grabbed the comforter which has fallen on the side and draped it over my body to hide my nakedness, or semi-nakedness. My breathing was harsh when I asked her THE question. “Why am I hug
ging you?”
She didn’t move from her position nor did she consider hiding her body. A smile appeared on her lips, pulling the corners upward. “Would you rather it was Denise that you were hugging?”
“No.” My voice cracked. I swallowed the lump in my throat, licking my lips which have become dry because of nervousness. “But what am I doing here? I thought I was at the party.”
Like a broken tape, the events the other night played in my head. Denise doing body shots on me. Denise taking me to the guest room. Denise unzipping my jeans and giving me one heck of a torrid. I gasped. What have I done? But wait! If I was with Denise, then how did I end up with Glace? Don’t tell me the three of us had. No, I didn’t even want to think about it. I gaped at Glace. “Did. Did something happen?” I pointed to her and myself. I was still feeling dizzy, but that didn’t matter now.
Her smile vanished. She sat on the bed, her smooth stomach flexing from the movement. It made me look downward to the small v-like shape just before her black undies. I gulped loudly while she appeared to be bored. “Nothing happened Dulce.” She turned to me and smirked. “You want to?”
I shook my head vigorously. “No. Of course not.” As an afterthought I added, “I want to do it with someone I love. Not because I was drunk from a stupid party.”
“And I want to do it with someone who is responsive. You were on a drunken stupor last night. You’re lucky that I entered the guest bedroom when I did. If not then Denise would have raped you.” Her voice turned sour at the mention of Denise’s name.
I crossed my arms on my chest. The comforter fell to my stomach revealing my upper area. I cringed and quickly draped it over me again. “How did you know that I didn’t want it to happen Glace?”
She rolled her eyes before sliding out of the bed. Her nakedness didn’t bother her. I had to stare awkwardly on the bed to hide my discomfort. It’s not that I didn’t like her body. I was just naïve like that. Sue me. “If you wanted to do it with her then you wouldn’t call out my name when she was kissing your neck.”
My eyes rose to her face. “I what?!” I said sharply.
She tapped her right foot on the floor, staring at me in amusement. “I said, you called out my name while she was on top of you.” Glace turned around and walked to the far corner of the room where a door was situated. “I’m going to take a shower. Want to come?”
“No,” I said weakly. Her bluntness and the information she gave regarding last night made me embarrassed. I didn’t have the guts to look her in the eye.
“Make yourself comfortable then.” She vanished inside the bathroom. When she was gone, I slumped back on the bed. What have I gotten myself into? Why did I call her name when I was with Denise? I was grateful that she stepped in last night. But this situation? Wah!
I closed my eyes for a second and was awoken by someone tapping my forehead. When my eyes fluttered open, I saw Glace looking down at me. Her hair was wet. She smelled like freshly brewed coffee. Did she bathe on it? My eyes lowered to her body. Good. She was decent and was wearing a baby pink tank top, skinny jeans, and a denim jacket. She looked hot. Drop dead gorgeous hot. The kind you’d want to look at all day.
“Go and take a bath. There are new towels inside the washroom. You’re also welcome to my walk-in closet once you’re finished. I’ll prepare breakfast for us.” She left the room, squashing all possibility for arguments.
When the door clicked close, I darted to the bathroom and locked the door. I scanned the area. It was glamorous. The elevated Jacuzzi on the far corner looked more like a small pool. One of the walls was replaced with glass, which made me wonder if people could see me outside. Maybe not. Knowing how Glace loved her privacy, I bet it was a one-sided glass where you could view the outside without being seen inside.
After doing my bathroom business, I went to the walk-in closet which was connected to the big bathroom. It was thrice the size of my bedroom. There was nothing surprising about it since she was a celebrity. But what was someone like me doing here? Glace was kinder than I originally thought. I searched for something decent to wear and decided on a blue cami, a grey cardigan, and tight jeans. She laid out new underwear for me to see. I grabbed it and wore it quickly. We were the same size.
When I was finished, I went back to the room. Everything seemed to be in place since the last time I came here. Her black wooden desk was still bare except for a purple laptop. The huge TV was still attached to the wall on the right. And the bed where we slept minutes ago was still large and soft looking. I walked to it and arranged the comforter and pillows. It smelled like her.
My eyes travelled inevitably to the purple wall. Something was missing. What was it? I racked my brain hard. Oh. That was it. The nude drawings that I saw when I came over last time weren’t there. They were replaced by drawings of two cute children talking on a graveyard. I walked over and observed the pictures, becoming more and more interested as the details appeared clearer. The children looked really familiar. So was the backdrop. I wondered why.
The first artwork showed a small girl crying next to a grave. The second artwork depicted another girl reaching for the crying child. The third picture was one that showed the two children hugging each other. While the last drawing revealed the girl giving something to the child who was previously crying. But this time, the two were smiling. What a weird drawing. It seemed to tell a story.
I walked around the room, determined to know more about Glace’s personality. Something on her desk pulled me to the spot. I thought previously that only her laptop was perched there but I was wrong. A black jewelry box was also on top of the table. The curious part of me opened the beautiful box. I was stunned at what lay inside. I was expecting to see glimmering diamonds or gold but it only contained a plastic ring. The type that children would wear. Something you could buy for several bucks in a toy store. I glanced back at the artworks of the two children. The ring inside the box kind of looked like the ring being given by one of the girls in the drawing.
“Done snooping on my stuff?” Glace said. I squeaked in surprise.
She was standing by the door, her arms folded. She didn’t look mad though which made me sigh in relief. Glace walked to me and closed the jewelry box. I knew I shouldn’t, but I still asked anyway. “What was that ring?”
Her eyes found mine. She held my gaze for a moment before glancing to the drawing on the wall. “It’s my most prized possession Dulce. It was given to me by my first and only love.” I caught the wistfulness in her voice.
“Oh.” I recalled Nadia and Denise’s conversation last night about Glace having a relationship with someone. Maybe that person gave her the ring. “Where is he now?” I asked. “Don’t tell me he’s dead. If yes them I’m so sorry for opening my big mouth.” I mentally kicked myself.
Glace chuckled low. “She’s not dead Dulce. She’s very much alive.” Glace ran a hand through her wet hair. “She went away.”
“Where?” I said curiously, pushing one small detail at the back of my mind.
“To a place where memories are forgotten and first kisses are sealed away.” She stared longingly at the picture, then back to me. Her eyes searched mine. “How about you? Do you remember your first kiss?”
I thought hard about her question. My childhood was a bit hazy to me. I didn’t really remember. Maybe my first kiss happened on a truth or dare. “I don’t Glace."
She leaned nearer and said in a voice so low that I could barely hear it. “You should remember it. You’d make the other person sad if you didn’t. Forgetting about such an important thing is like telling the one you kissed that it was nothing for you.” My heart pounded at her closeness. I leaned away. Sensing my discomfort, she took a few steps back before turning around and walking to the door. “Come down for breakfast stranger,” she said. “I cooked your favorite bacon and pancakes.”
The kitchen was designed with black granite marble, including the counter and walls. What an expensive house it was. Glace must have worked ha
rd to achieve this. She beckoned for me to sit on the table countertop where bacon and pancakes were piled on a plate. There was also orange juice.
“How did you know that it’s my favorite?”
She took a seat in front of me and smirked. “I’d like to say that I have special powers, but I don’t.” She shrugged. “The next best thing was to ask Andrea.”
“My mom?” I asked with wide eyes.
“No. That girl from the ice cream store.” She rolled her eyes. “Of course it’s your mom.”
I dismissed her sarcasm and grabbed a fork. “Why did you ask about my favorite food?” Who would be interested in that? Glace was a big mystery to me.
She poured orange juice for both our glasses before answering my question. “Because I wanted to.” She pushed the glass to me. “Drink up. Remove that alcohol from your system. I’m actually surprised that you don’t have a migraine. You were obviously drunk last night, or buzzed.”
Now that she said that, I could feel the migraine beginning to settle at my temple. I took the glass, bringing it closer to my lips. “Wait. This is not spiked right?”
She sighed. “Why would I even include alcohol there? If I wanted you to do something, I would have sweet talked you into it.” She began filling her plate with food, while I took a sip from the glass. The juice was surprisingly sweet and refreshing. “For someone with straight A’s and a stunning face, you sure are naïve Dulce.” Glace poured maple syrup all over her pancake and mumbled to herself. “If I knew you’d be this gullible, I would have come for you sooner.”
I placed the glass down. “What did you say?”
She stopped what she was doing. “Nothing. Just eat up okay?”
I nodded and started filling my plate too. It surprised me that she knew how to cook. “How did you learn how to cook?”
